The Louvre, the Musee d'Orsay and the Orangerie sit on the right bank of the Seine within a 15 minute walk of each other. The Centre Pompidou is a 10 minute metro hop into the Marais. The Rodin, the Picasso, the Cluny, the Quai Branly and the Marmottan Monet round out the cultural agenda for a full Paris trip. The Paris Museum Pass bundles 50 of these venues at a flat 2, 4 or 6 day price and removes the cashier queue.
Yes for the Louvre and the Orangerie. They use timed entry and they sell out 2 to 3 weeks ahead in high season. Other museums can usually be booked the day before.
The Paris Museum Pass at 70 EUR for 2 days or 90 EUR for 4 days is the cheapest option if you plan 4 visits or more. For fewer visits, individual skip the line tickets are cheaper.
Partly. The Pass lets you bypass the ticket office at every site but you still need to reserve a time slot at the Louvre, the Orsay and the Orangerie. Smaller museums like the Rodin or the Cluny are true walk in entry.
Most close on Tuesday. The Louvre closes on Tuesday, the Orsay on Monday, the Orangerie on Tuesday and the Pompidou on Tuesday. Always check before you plan a full day.
